SAN DIEGO WORKFORCE INDEX
The San Diego Workforce Index provides a monthly snapshot of how the San Diego County labor market is functioning. The Index is a compilation of a range of economic indicators that provide a month-to-month record of the status of the workforce in San Diego County. The measures that make up this index were chosen using this criteria: local – the measure targets San Diego County; timely – the measure is updated on a monthly basis; and, current impact – the measure shows current conditions that impact the state of the workforce.

SHRM's Metro Economic Outlook reports provide comprehensive analyses of the economies of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. The reports include data from SHRM, the private sector and the government, as well as insights from the experts that are connected to each metro area's economy.
Even with unemployment rates that have hovered near double digits in recent months, the San Diego area's labor force has seen some positive signs of late. Hiring is slowly trickling back to the stalwarts of the local economy, which include the U.S. military and related suport operations, the technology sector, education and the tourism/hospitality industry.

Available for viewing are recent studies on San Diego County's healthcare sector and hospitality industry. Healthcare Jobs, a booklet for youth that describes the employment opportunities in the healthcare sector in the county; and hospitality brochures in Spanish and English that describe job opportunities and career paths in the hospitality industry in the region.
